US Stocks Rise

Baku-APA. U.S. stock market indexes made gains as Thursdayâ€™s trading got underway. The Dow Jones Industrial Average and the S & P 500 advanced eight-tenths of a percent, while the NASDAQ moved up nine-tenths of a percent, APA reports quoting voanews.com website.
European stock markets were higher in afternoon trading. Londonâ€™s Financial Times 100 index rose seven-tenths of a percent, the CAC-40 in Paris jumped one percent, and the DAX in Frankfurt advanced nine-tenths of a percent.
Earlier in Asia, Tokyoâ€™s Nikkei index lost less than one-tenth of one percent , to finish at 9,376. Hong Kongâ€™s Hang Seng index gained four-tenths of a percent , to finish the dayâ€™s trading at 23,649.
The price of gold fell more than $1 to trade at $1,344.70 an ounce.
The dollar was lower against the yen and the euro.
