Baku – APA. A Canadian commander who had flown Queen Elizabeth and had been stationed in the Middle East has pleaded guilty to the murders of two women, APA reports quoting “The Voice of America”.

Colonel Russell Williams pleaded guilty to two first-degree murder charges Monday in an Ontario court. He also pleaded guilty to the sexual assaults of two other women, forcible confinement and a number of breaking and entering charges.

The 47-year-old faces an automatic sentence of life in prison, with no possibility of parole for at least 25 years.

Prosecutors say he killed 27-year-old Jessica Lloyd and 38-year-old Corporal Marie-France Comeau, both of Canada, and was responsible for numerous break-ins.

During his more than two-decade military career, Williams had been stationed at the secretive Canadian Forces base, Camp Mirage in the Middle East, and was commander of Canada’s largest Air Force base.
