President Jimmy Carter Rushed to Cleveland Hospital

Baku-APA. Former President Jimmy Carter was rushed to MetroHealth Medical Center on Tuesday morning immediately after a plane he was riding in touched down at Cleveland Hopkins airport, according to Fox 8 News’ Kevin Freeman, APA reports quoting Los Angeles Times.

Freeman reports that Carter was aboard a Delta Flight that landed at Cleveland Hopkins Airport, and according to airport spokesperson Jackie Mayo, Carter became ill aboard the flight.

Mayo did not know the nature of the President’s illness. Officials at MetroHealth Medical Center would not provide information on the President’s condition.

President Carter, 85, was scheduled to appear at a book signing at the Joseph-Beth Booksellers at Legacy Village on Tuesday afternoon.

According to Mayo, an ambulance took Carter to the hospital and was escorted by the Secret Service and the Ohio State Highway Patrol. The President’s security detail remains parked outside of MetroHealth Medical Center.

A member of the Secret Service awaiting President Carter’s arrival at the Joseph-Beth Booksellers at Legacy Village and a representative from the bookseller both tell Fox 8 News the book signing event has not been canceled. Both individuals tell Fox 8 News they have been told Carter will still attend the event.
