Baku-APA. Algerian Interior Minister Daho Ould Kablia refuted on Tuesday allegations of some political parties that the parliamentary elections held in May 10 were rigged, APA reports quoting Xinhua.

In an interview with local newspaper Liberte, Ould Kablia demanded evidence to support the accusation of elections fraud, noting that the reaction of both electors and monitors showed that the elections had run fairly and transparently.

The Alliance of Green Algeria, formed by three Islamist parties, accused the Algerian administration of manipulating the elections in favor of two government-allied parties, the National Liberation Front and the National Democratic Rally, which grabbed 288 of the 462 seats in the parliament.

However, some 500 foreign monitors from the European Union, the Arab League, the Organization of the Islamic Conference and the African Union have described the elections as "transparent."

A local news website TSA reported that the protesting political parties will meet next week to discuss measures to be taken, including boycotting the new-elected parliament.
