Baku-APA. Egyptian Prime Minister Essam Sharaf said Thursday the 1979 peace treaty with Israel is not sacred and is open to discussion and changes, the official MENA news agency quoted Sharaf in an interview with a Turkish TV, APA reports quoting Xinhua.

The Camp David accord is open to discussion and changes as long as they serve for a just peace in the region, Sharaf said, noting the agreement is not a sacred book.

Meanwhile, Sharaf said in the interview that Egypt and Turkey are two major powers in the region, whose aim is just peace and development. He added a recent visit to Egypt by Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan "came at a critical time when real changes occurred in the Middle East."
