Sudanese president appoints two vice presidents, one from Darfur

Baku-APA. Sudanese President Omar al- Bashir on Tuesday appointed two vice presidents, one of whom came from Darfur region, APA reports quoting Xinhua.

According to the copy of two Republican decrees obtained by Xinhua, al-Bashir appointed Ali Osman Mohamed Taha as first vice president and Al-Haj Adam Yousif, who is from Darfur region, as vice president.

The post of Sudanese first vice president, once occupied by Salva Kiir Mayardit, became vacant after the separation of South Sudan on July 9 this year.

The Darfur peace agreement, signed in the Qatari capital of Doha on July 14, included appointing a vice president from the Darfur region.
