Five powerful blasts rock Libya’s capital

Baku-APA. A series of powerful explosions have rattled the Libyan capital, Tripoli, amid diplomatic efforts to find a way out of four months of crisis in the country, APA reports quoting Press TV.

Five powerful blasts hit the capital Tripoli on late Thursday, rocking an area where embattled ruler Muammar Gaddafi has his residence, AFP reported.

Earlier on Thursday, Western leaders, gathering for a Group of Eight summit in the French seaside resort of Deauville, reiterated their determination to force Gaddafi out.

The diplomatic effort came after Libyan Prime Minister Al Baghdadi Ali al-Mahmoudi said the Gaddafi’s regime was prepared for an immediate UN-monitored ceasefire in the crisis-hit North African country.
