Rescue ship leaves Misrata port with 800 aboard: IOM

Baku â€“ APA. A rescue ship carrying about 800 migrants, journalists and wounded Libyans has departed from Misrata port, the scene of shelling by Muammar Gaddafi’s army on Wednesday, an aid agency said, APA reports quoting â€œReutersâ€.
The Red Star One unloaded relief supplies at the besieged city’s port and quickly boarded passengers for the return trip to Benghazi, the International Organization for Migration (IOM) said.
"IOM team leader on the boat Othman Belbeisi reported that hundreds of Libyan civilians had also tried to board the ship in desperation to get out of Misrata. But with a limited capacity, the ramp of the boat had to be pulled up so that the ship could pull away from the dock in safety," the IOM said in a statement.
