Baku-APA. A NATO airstrike has killed at least twelve revolutionary forces in the besieged city of Misratah in the eastern Libya, medical sources say, APA reports quoting Press TV.

According to Libyan medical sources, the deaths took place when a number of missiles hit a building five kilometers east of the city’s Mediterranean port where revolutionary forces were stationed on Wednesday, The Associated Press reported.

NATO has denied the attack, although witnesses insist otherwise.

Dr. Hassan Malitan said that the attacked happened shortly after he and a colleague had left the building.

"We drove about 200 meters and we heard a huge explosion that shook the earth," Malitan said.

"We started crying and screaming out their names," he said. "It was clear that the missiles came from the sky and we heard the airplane," he added.

In the capital Tripoli, a huge blast was heard as NATO warplanes flew over there. Earlier, four people were wounded after NATO warplanes struck a military target in eastern Tripoli.

Meanwhile, Britain has revealed plans to deploy troops to the Libyan border with Tunisia. London says the troops will be dispatched to the border to enforce safe havens for refugees from attacks by Gaddafi troops.

Reports say more than 5,000 Libyans have crossed over into neighboring Tunisia over the last 48 hours. At the Dehiba-Wazin border crossing, Gaddafi forces reportedly overtook an outpost on Thursday.

The United Nations World Food Program has warned about a growing food crisis in Libya. It has recently sent its second shipment of aid consisting of 500 tons of food and other supplies, which landed at the port of Mistratah.

A humanitarian ship carrying about 1,000 people rescued from Misratah has docked in the eastern port city of Benghazi, which has become the de facto capital for the revolutionary forces.
