Zimbabwe has expressed its respect to Azerbaijan for its contribution to transforming the World Urban Forum (WUF) into a leading global platform, Zimbabwe’s Minister of Local Government and Public Works Daniel Garwe said during the Leaders’ Session organized within the framework of the 13th session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13) held in Baku, APA-Economics reports.
“We express our respect to the Republic of Azerbaijan for its contribution to transforming the World Urban Forum into a leading global platform dedicated to how cities are planned, built and governed,” Daniel Garwe noted.
He also thanked President Ilham Aliyev and the people of Azerbaijan for the warm reception and hospitality shown to the delegation in Baku.
According to the minister, the participation of heads of state and government in WUF13 demonstrates that global discussions on sustainable urban development have risen to the level of priority.
Daniel Garwe stated that the forum is of great importance in terms of strengthening political will and developing practical strategies to address the global housing crisis, informal settlements and homelessness.
