Necessary preparatory work has been carried out to ensure the uninterrupted organization of services at medical institutions operating under TABIB in connection with the Thirteenth Session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13), APA reports citing TABIB.

It was noted that during the event, four medical institutions in particular, including the Republican Emergency and Urgent Medical Aid Center, will operate under an enhanced working regime.

Taking into account possible medical needs, the emergency and urgent medical aid department, pediatric emergency and urgent medical aid department, intensive care unit, and operating room of the New Clinic have been brought to full readiness. At the same time, an appropriate bed capacity has been allocated at the Mahammadi Modular Hospital operating under the Sabunchu Medical Center for infectious diseases, at the Central Oil Workers Hospital for burn injuries, and at the Clinical Medical Center for poisoning cases.

The need for medical equipment, medicines, and medical supplies to be used at the medical institutions was determined in advance and fully ensured. In addition, 75 teams and 35 emergency medical service vehicles have been allocated on a rotating basis by the Republican Emergency and Urgent Medical Aid Center in connection with WUF13.

Emergency and urgent medical aid teams will operate 24/7 at the hotels allocated within the framework of WUF13 and in the areas where the event is being held. The allocation of reserve transport vehicles is also planned to ensure the uninterrupted operation of emergency medical services.

In addition, training sessions on basic and advanced life support were organized for the personnel involved in emergency and urgent medical services, including doctors, mid-level medical staff, and drivers. At the same time, first aid training was also conducted for employees and volunteers of the WUF13 Azerbaijan Operations Company. The training programs are aimed at increasing participants’ skills in correct and prompt intervention during emergencies. During the training, participants were provided with practical knowledge on the initial assessment of life-threatening conditions, the rules of performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation, stopping bleeding, and providing first aid in trauma cases.
