WUF13 to be held in Baku is an important platform for people to come together and engage in dialogue at a time when global discussions are taking place, said Interim UN Resident Coordinator in Azerbaijan Igor Garafulić during a briefing dedicated to the Thirteenth Session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13), APA reports.
He noted that the ideas and policies to be shaped at WUF13 could serve as a “guideline” for other countries in determining their urban development priorities: “As a representative of the United Nations system here, I would like to note that we have signed a cooperation framework document with the government, which outlines two main priorities — environment and urbanization. This issue is already reflected in official documents and is not related only to the forum.”
