The World Urban Forum (WUF) is a very important initiative and the largest forum in history dedicated to urban development, Dmitry Mariyasin, Deputy Executive Secretary of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE), said during the session titled “Strategic Environmental Assessment Tool for Achieving Climate Goals in Urban Planning” held within the framework of WUF13, APA reports.
He thanked Azerbaijan for the successful organization of WUF13.
He stressed that the topic of ecology is not often at the center of attention and does not receive sufficient focus, although it should, because it concerns the future.
“This is directly linked to competitiveness, choices, and making the right decisions,” he said.
