"The Global South is rising with its potential, ideas, innovations, and solutions. The importance of the Global South NGO Platform lies in bringing together different regions of the world. The unity of Southern countries is a very powerful approach," said Dima Al-Khatib, Director of the United Nations Office for South-South Cooperation (UNOSSC), during a conference held within the framework of WUF13, APA reports.
She said that developing countries are no longer only recipients of aid, but are also becoming important partners that provide ideas, technologies, and successful governance models. According to her, such platforms further strengthen South-South cooperation by bringing together different regions of the world.
It was noted that UNOSSC, operating under the mandate of the United Nations General Assembly, is engaged in promoting, coordinating, and supporting cooperation between member states and the UN system.
She also drew attention to Azerbaijan’s innovative model in the field of public services.
In this context, it was stated that Azerbaijan has developed an exemplary model for organizing public services. In particular, the ASAN Service model was presented as a successful example of South-South cooperation, and it was emphasized that several countries are cooperating based on this experience.
