Within the framework of transport arrangements for the World Urban Forum – WUF13, temporary dedicated traffic lanes have been organized on a number of streets and avenues in the capital. Installation of special road signs 5.9 indicating “lane for public transport vehicles” has begun in those areas, and the temporary lanes marked with these signs will come into force starting from May 15.
The temporary dedicated lanes cover Heydar Aliyev Avenue–Airport Highway, Abbasgulu aga Bakikhanov Street, Yusif Safarov Street, Mehdi Abbasov Street, Mikayil Aliyev Street, and Mikayil Mushfig Street.
According to the legislation, these lanes have the status of bus lanes, and other vehicles entering them during the period they are in force will be fined.
After the event ends, the signs will be removed and all vehicles will again be allowed to use the temporarily designated lanes.
