Elchin Yusubov, the President’s special representative in the city of Khankendi and the Aghdara and Khojaly districts, and Aydin Karimov, the President’s special representative in the Shusha district, have called on private investors to invest in the liberated territories, APA reports.
Aydin Karimov said during the event titled “Post-conflict urban planning: Restoring destroyed identity and rebuilding an integrated future,” held at the Azerbaijan pavilion within the framework of the 13th Session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13), that as cities develop, the funding required for their development also increases:
“Over the past five years, nearly 14 billion dollars have been spent by the Azerbaijani government on restoration and reconstruction in the liberated territories. Private investments are now also being attracted to the process. Private entrepreneurs have spent 25–30 thousand in Shusha. Very favorable conditions have been created for investments in the liberated territories.”
Elchin Yusubov also noted that significant work has been carried out in this field and stated that all infrastructure measures have been implemented by the state: “Serious efforts are underway to attract businesspeople to the liberated territories. In the near future, the number of jobs in the liberated territories will increase, and these are private investments. There are already thousands of applications. Private investors are investing there without worrying about property issues. The state has already done enough work and created the necessary conditions; now companies must make their choice.”
