A meeting of the Organizing Committee established in connection with the organization of the Thirteenth Session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13) of the United Nations was held on May 7, APA reports.
Head of the Administration of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan and Chairman of the Organizing Committee Samir Nuriyev opened the meeting and noted that little time remains until the start of WUF13 and that from May 17 to 22, the city of Baku will host one of the world’s most prestigious international platforms on the urban development and sustainable development agenda.
The Chairman of the Organizing Committee stated that holding global-scale events in Azerbaijan under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev has already become a tradition. Samir Nuriyev emphasized that WUF13 is of great importance in terms of presenting Azerbaijan’s modern urban planning vision, its contributions to the sustainable development agenda, as well as the large-scale restoration and reconstruction model implemented in the territories liberated from occupation at the international level.
Samir Nuriyev gave instructions for the relevant issues to be resolved promptly and in a coordinated manner by the relevant institutions at the final stage of the preparation process for WUF13, as well as for the work in all directions to be further intensified and completed.
