WUF13 is an important platform for strengthening global cooperation in the fields of urbanization, climate change, housing provision and sustainable urban development, Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Olzhas Bektenov said during his speech at the opening ceremony of WUF13, APA reports.
Touching upon the future of cities in Kazakhstan, infrastructure development and the efficient management of resources, the Prime Minister emphasized that the protection and sustainable use of water resources is one of the key directions of the country’s urbanization policy.
“In this regard, these topics also form one of the foundations of our state policy. A new Construction Code has been adopted in Kazakhstan. We have defined criteria for the quality of architecture and urban construction here,” he stressed.
Bektenov also thanked President Ilham Aliyev and the Azerbaijani government for the high level of organization.
“It is no coincidence that WUF13 is being held in Baku, a city where historical heritage and modern architecture are united,” he emphasized.
