An event titled “Housing Provision and Sustainable Communities in Post-Conflict Territories” has been organized by the Reformist Women and Innovations Public Union within the framework of the World Urban Forum (WUF13), APA reports.
The panel discussions focused on the restoration of territories in the post-conflict period, the creation of a sustainable and inclusive living environment, social integration and efforts aimed at community development.
The speakers emphasized that strengthening international cooperation, applying innovative approaches and social solidarity are of great importance for sustainable development in post-conflict territories.
Participants of the event noted that such platforms are of particular importance in terms of exchanging experience and expanding international partnerships.
Member of Parliament Rizvan Nabiyev emphasized the importance of strengthening the role of women in post-conflict territories. He stated that sustainable urban development is possible not only through the restoration of infrastructure, but also through the active participation of women in decision-making, urban governance and reconstruction processes.
MP Vugar Bayramov pointed out that urban planning is not only a technical and infrastructure issue, but also a strategic approach that takes gender equality and inclusiveness into account: “Supporting women’s entrepreneurship and inclusive development are among the main priorities of urban planning policy.”
Mexican Ambassador Maria Victoria Romero Caballero stated that she had the opportunity to meet many young people, entrepreneurs and young women working in various fields here: “We have communities similar to Azerbaijan, with similar needs. We can all learn from one another, and this is one of the main things I have learned this week.”
The event continued with a panel session.
During the panel session, Member of Parliament Sevinj Fataliyeva, President of the Constitution Research Foundation Alimammad Nuriyev, and Director of Public Relations and Corporate Communications at Bakcell Aysel Suleymanova delivered speeches and shared their views during the discussion.
