Azerbaijan is building nine new cities and hundreds of settlements in the liberated territories, Azerbaijan’s Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports Farhad Hajiyev said during the opening session of the Children and Youth Assembly organized within the framework of the 13th session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13) held in Baku, APA-Economics reports.
According to him, the reconstruction process in Karabakh and Eastern Zangazur includes not only the construction of roads and buildings, but also the restoration of trust, opportunities, and daily life.
Farhad Hajiyev noted that Azerbaijan is reshaping opportunities for people to live, work, and study based on green energy, digital innovation, and a people-centered urban planning approach.
The deputy minister emphasized that more than 55% of beneficiaries of the state’s affordable housing programs are young people.
He added that the future of cities is determined not only by decisions made in conference halls, but also by the participation of the young people growing up in those cities.
