Baku Metro to operate under enhanced schedule during WUF13 days
# 15 May 2026 10:23 (UTC +04:00)

A strengthened operating regime will be introduced at “Baku Metro” CJSC, part of AZCON Holding companies, in connection with the 13th Session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13), which will be held in Baku on May 17-22, Baku Metro CJSC told APA-Economics.

Changes will be made to train schedules in order to ensure the safe and uninterrupted management of passenger flow in line with the cultural events and operational plan to be held in the capital.

Thus, although the first day of the event — May 17 — falls on a non-working day, train operations will be organized according to the Saturday schedule.

On that day, the interval on the “28 May–Ahmadli” route and in the opposite direction will be 2 minutes and 30 seconds.

On the other days of the session, trains will operate according to the traditional weekday schedule, at the most intensive technically possible frequency. The interval on the “28 May–Ahmadli” section will be 1 minute and 45 seconds.

The schedule on the Purple Line, as well as on the “Ahmadli–Hazi Aslanov” and “Jafar Jabbarli–Khatai” shuttle sections, will remain unchanged.

In addition, reserve trains will be kept ready in order to promptly regulate passenger density.

It should be noted that volunteers will also operate in the Baku Metro during the WUF13 days. In total, 56 volunteers will work in shifts (07:00–15:00 and 15:00–22:00) at 9 stations, assisting passengers and event participants.
