“The Shusha city was declared as the tourism capital for 2026. We believe that Shusha will become one of the well-known and frequently visited places of Azerbaijan in the near future,” said Khusrav Noziri, the Secretary General of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) during the first meeting of educational institutions specialized in tourism of ECO member states, APA reports.
He said that the organization has selected only 6 cities in the region as tourism capitals so far:
“Those are Dushanbe city of Tajikistan, Sari and Ardabil of Iran, Shahrisabz in Uzbekistan, Erzurum of Türkiye and Shusha of Azerbaijan.”
