The Baku Court of Grave Crimes has begun the trial of NIDA civic movement member Elgiz Gahramanli who was jailed for four months on drug charges.
The court specified the profile data about the defendant, whose attorney asked for the replacement of his pretrial detention with house arrest. The attorney also asked that his defendant be seated next to the attorneys in case the petition is denied.
The court denied the petitions.
The trial will be resumed on December 21.
Gahramanli is charged under article 234.4.3 (Illegal manufacturing, purchase, storage, transportation, transfer or selling of narcotics, psychotropic substances).
