APA reports that Nabil Seyidov, National Coordinator of the Azerbaijani NGO Alliance for Children's Rights gave information about it at the round table on children's rights.
He noted that the youngest child who committed suicide last year was 9 years old. Seyidov said there are not accurate statistics on suicide attempts in the country and they aren’t collected. If statistics is carried out properly, the situation will appear to be even worse: “Thousands of children and teenagers suffer from depression, anxiety and other mental disorders, as well as thousands of children witness crimes, violence and domestic violence every year. Nearly 300 children underwent a variety of violence over the past 2 years. About 40 children underwent sexual violence and exploitation in Baku during the past 2 years.”
