Deputy PM: “Now, the houses are visited for inventory, not for demolition” - <span style="color: red;">UPDATED 2

Baku. Ramiz Mikayiloglu – APA. Meeting with Organizing Committee of "Sovetski" residents at Yasamal District Executive Authority has ended.

 

APA reports that Deputy Prime Minister Abid Sharifov said that development of General Plan of the territory will take a month or a month and a half: “We’ll not forcibly evacuate anyone from his/her home. The doors of the residents can only be knocked for inventory. Inventory is important for the development of General Plan”.

 

Sharifov underlined that construction of buildings for “Sovetski” residents in the center of the city is impossible: “Because no houses will be built in the area which will be demolished. The people should know that the now the houses are visited for inventory, not for demolition.”

 

According to Sharifov the residents going to sell homes will be paid AZN 400 to carry their household things and AZN 1,000 for two-month rent.

 

Head of Yasamal District Executive Authority Ibrahim Mehdiyev noted that tens of residents appeal to them saying they agree to get AZN 1,500 for m²: “These are the residents who have bill of sale”. If there are some claimers for one home, we sign contract after they agree with one another”.

 

At the end, it was agreed to continue the meetings.

Baku. Ramiz Mikayiloghlu – APA. Yasamal District Executive Authority is today hosting the meeting with 7-member Organizing Committee established by residents of Sovetski street.

 

APA reports that Deputy Prime Minister Abid Sharifov, Chief of State Financial Control Service of the Ministry of Finance Javanshir Yusifov, Head of Yasamal District Executive Authority Ibrahim Mehdiyev, Deputy Minister of internal Affairs Oruj Zalov and other officials are attending the meeting.

 

A group of residents of Sovetski street is dissatisfied with the amount of compensation to be given to them in exchange for the demolition of their homes. The residents were offered AZN 1500 per square meter of the residents, but they want AZN 4000. Deputy Prime Minister, Head of Baku Executive Authority Hajibala Abutalibov and Head of Yasamal District Executive Authority met with the residents on February 18. The Organizing Committee submitted 9 proposals to the government. The residents were told that the government will respond to their proposals on March 3.
