Azerbaijani Youth Foundation marks 5th anniversary

The Youth Foundation under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan held an event on Thursday to mark the fifth anniversary of its establishment.

Ali Hasanov, Azerbaijani presidential aide for public and political affairs, Youth and Sports Minister Azad Rahimov, MPs, and heads of youth organizations in Azerbaijan attended the event.

Addressing the event, Farhad Hajiyev, executive direction of the Youth Foundation, noted that the Foundation has so far received 7,098 projects.

“Of them, 3,341 projects (963 local, 94 international and 2,284 individual projects) have been supported by the Foundation,” he said.

Youth and Sport Minister Azad Rahimov in turn noted that the youth policy pursued in Azerbaijan is a model for the world.

In his speech, Ali Hasanov, Azerbaijani presidential aide for public and political affairs, emphasized that the Youth Foundation has played an important role in the implementation of youth policy in the country.

“The experience of old people and energy of the young people together yield better results,” Hasanov said, adding. “Young people must first be physically healthy. Therefore, a large number of sports complexes have been built in the country under the auspices of the ministry.”

The top official noted that in Azerbaijan there are a number of talented young people working in foreign companies, state agencies and parliament, and they are able to represent the country at all levels.
