Pashayeva said that the Parliament is receiving more appeals from the residents of buildings not supplied with natural gas. He said the citizens are seriously concerned over the situation and stressed the importance of solving the problem.

Speaker Ogtay Asadov said he is also interested in the problem: “70 percent of these buildings don’t have chimney stack systems. Secondly, 70 percent of the residents should move to a building so that it is supplied with gas. It is said that half of the flats are empty. Who will be responsible if gas supply in the building causes an explosion? Lack of chimney stack systems is a serious problem.”

MP, President of SOCAR Rovnag Abdullayev also commented on the issue. He said that construction companies sell flats and citizens move after the flats are supplied with water and energy: “But gas delivery to these buildings is impossible. Azeriqaz production unit declares that a building is supplied with gas within a week after having been licensed by the Ministry of Emergency Situations.”

He said that the buildings failing to meet safety rules wouldn’t be supplied with gas. Therefore, residents should firstly require a report from the construction company.”
