The government of Azerbaijan properly fulfils obligations on the protection of children’s rights and pays special attention to this issue, said Bahar Muradova, vice-speaker of the Azerbaijani Parliament.
She made the remarks addressing an event titled “Legislation for Children: Cooperation between Azerbaijani Parliament and UNICEF”, organized in Baku Dec. 15.
Azerbaijan, during 25 years of its independence, favored coordinated action for the protection of children’s rights, noted the vice-speaker.
Azerbaijan has joined numerous international conventions on children’s rights, Muradova said, adding. “Azerbaijan fulfills the obligations of these conventions. Azerbaijan-UNICEF cooperation has significantly strengthened in comparison to previous years.”
