Azerbaijan names construction companies with highest number of complaints from citizens

Some of the complaints received by the Azerbaijani Presidential Administration from citizens in 2016 were related to the construction sector in the country, read a reporting article by the chief of the department for with documents and appeals of citizens at the Presidential Administration, Suleyman Ismayilov, which was published by AZERTAC.

According to the article, the citizens mainly complained about high-rise residential buildings not constructed in accordance with the relevant rules and regulations, violation of contract terms, fraud cases in construction industry, failure to confirm their right to property over the apartments they bought, procrastination, and delay in gas and water supply.

The article pointed out that the complaints received about over 100 housing cooperatives and companies once again confirm that the citizens are right.

“In recent years, criminal cases have been filed against such housing cooperatives, limited liability and other companies. For instance, in 2016, head of “MTK Real” Ilham Gasimov was sentenced to 15 years in prison, head of “198 SaylÄ±”, “200 SaylÄ±” housing cooperatives Etibar Farziyev to 14 years. Criminal cases were opened against heads and other officials of “Æli bÉ™y”, “ÆzizbÉ™y-KM”, “AENT-E”, “Fateh-N”, “Badu-KubÉ™”, “Åžahbulaq”, “Term”, “Ä°DEAL-Ä° Ä°nÅŸaat”, “Mehriban QonÅŸular”, “XÉ™tai-2”, “Ulduz-S”, “AzÉ™rtikinti ATF”, “DÉ™rÉ™çiçÉ™k”, “Fuad LTD”, “Birlik Ä°nÅŸaat” housing cooperatives, limited liability and other companies. Some of these criminal cases have already been completed, the accused were punished,” said the article.

As the Azerbaijani president mentioned at the meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers in January 10, 2017, this year there will be a great revival in housing construction, social housing will be provided and new rules will be applied on provision of residents living in old residential areas with apartments in new buildings.
