Wife of military pilot Rashad Atakishiyev: “Our children will follow his way”

“Rashad has left two precious children. They will follow his way”, said Konul Huseynova, the wife of MiG-29 aircraft pilot Rashad Atakishiyev at the funeral ceremony today, APA reports.

According to her, his pride and courage was assuring that he would return home safely to his children: “Unfortunately, our dreams did not come true”.

She stated that Rashad was brave, patriotic and a good person. “My husband was living with pure feelings. My children will continue to dignify his name and grow up as worthy patriots to our country”.

Pilot’s wife noted that they have witnessed the hard and intensive work of search and rescue teams: “Weather condition has allowed them to find him these days. We would like to thank them, as well”.

Note that on July 24 at 22:00 (GMT +4), the MIG-29 plane of the Azerbaijani Air Force crashed during training flights and fell into the Caspian Sea. During the night training flights, the connection with the MIG-29 plane was suddenly lost, and it disappeared from the radars. On August 20, the body of the military pilot, Lieutenant Colonel Atakishiyev Rashad Saleddin, was found and recovered from the sea.

The pilot was buried in the second Alley of Honor today.
