The minimum wage in Azerbaijan increased by 40 percent from AZN 180 to AZN 250 from September 1 of the current year, according to the order of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev dated June 18, 2019, including 20-50% increase in the wages of people working in public sector, APA reports citing the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of Population.
At the same time, wages of the public sector workers increased by 20-50 percent and it covered 400 thousand citizens.
As a part of the second social pack, increase in minimum wage and salaries of public sector workers resulted in fundamental increase of salary income of 1 million 350 thousand people.
