The Ministry of Emergency Situations has appealed to the population regarding the increased fire risk in the liberated territories due to the warming weather, APA reports.
The appeal states:
"Currently, large-scale reconstruction and restoration works, construction of infrastructure, housing and other facilities are rapidly continuing in the liberated territories of our country, former internally displaced persons are gradually returning to their ancestral lands, and numerous citizens are also visiting the liberated territories on the basis of special permits.
Considering the danger of fires starting and spreading rapidly due to the warming weather, as well as the richness of the forest fund, flora and fauna in our liberated territories, minor carelessness or irresponsibility regarding fire safety can lead to major consequences. The numerous mines buried in those areas complicate the work of extinguishing fires.
It should be noted with regret that despite the mass awareness-raising activities carried out by the Ministry of Emergency Situations, especially in recent days, fires have been recorded in open areas and forest areas in various directions in the territories of the Karabakh and Eastern Zangezur economic regions, and only thanks to the dedication of firefighters, these fires were not allowed to grow and cause more serious consequences.
Taking into account the above, the Ministry of Emergency Situations appeals to citizens living and operating in the liberated territories, as well as those traveling to those territories for various purposes, to strictly observe fire safety rules, especially in the hot and dry summer months, and thereby take care of the fascinating nature, fauna and flora of our Karabakh and East Zangezur.
Thus, fire prevention regimes should be strictly observed in enterprises and organizations and situations that may cause fires should not be allowed, the yards of private houses, farms and industrial enterprises should be periodically cleaned of dry grass and waste, cigarettes or matches should be thrown into garbage cans only after they are completely extinguished, and materials soaked in flammable liquids, as well as glass containers and glass shards, should not be thrown around, bonfires (fireplaces) in nature should be left in special places or for this purpose a place should be selected that is not under trees, does not have dry grass and bushes, and does not have wood chips around it, and the surrounding grass should be cleared within a radius of 0.5-1 meter, when leaving the area, the bonfire (fireplace) should be completely extinguished, water should be poured over it and covered with soil. The mechanisms of agricultural machinery used for grain and hay procurement should be maintained in good condition, and the operation of faulty machinery in arable fields should be prohibited. It should be remembered that bonfires are prohibited in windy weather conditions, as well as in forest areas!
Remember: disregard for the rules is a threat to our lives!
In case of danger, call 112!"
