A child has the right to receive financial support in an amount not less than the subsistence minimum established by law, APA reports.
This is reflected in the new draft Law “On the Rights of the Child” discussed at today’s meeting of the Milli Majlis Committee on Family, Women and Children’s Affairs.
Under the draft, every child has the right to social security. A child has the right to receive financial support in an amount not less than the subsistence minimum established by law. In order to ensure the social protection of children, the state provides social assistance to certain categories of persons.
Children in difficult life circumstances and their families will be provided with guaranteed free social services, in accordance with the law “On Social Services,” at state social service institutions and in homes. Local self-government bodies implement local social protection programs that provide additional guarantees for children beyond state social security. Non-governmental organizations implement measures for the social protection of children within the framework of state orders or on their own initiative and using their own financial resources.
