For the first time, Kalbajar City Day was celebrated today, APA’s Karabakh bureau reports.
Fireworks were held in the city following the event.
The celebration was organized in Kalbajar district by the Special Representative Office of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Kalbajar, the Kalbajar Restoration, Construction and Management Service, with the support of the Ministry of Culture.

Today, for the first time since liberation from occupation, Kalbajar City Day was celebrated in Kalbajar, APA’s Karabakh bureau reports.
The event was held in Kalbajar district with the organization of the Special Representative Office of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Kalbajar district, the Restoration, Construction and Management Service in Kalbajar district, and with the support of the Ministry of Culture.
The celebration of City Day is of great importance in terms of presenting Kalbajar’s rich culture, and at the same time carries both symbolic and profound spiritual meaning for residents who have returned to their native lands and witnessed the revival of the homeland they longed for over many years.
First, the dear memory of our martyrs who gave their lives for the liberation of our lands was honored with a one-minute moment of silence, and the National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan was played.
The cultural program organized for children and the Ganja State Theater’s play “Tıq-tıq xanım,” in addition to sparking their interest, added a special color to the event.
In the exhibition zone set up in the city area, the “Kalbajar – From Lens to History” photo exhibition, the art exhibition titled “The Palette of Kalbajar,” master classes conducted with the participation of painters, as well as master classes by ashigs representing the region’s ancient ashig art, were presented to visitors.
On City Day, public and political figures, Kalbajar intellectuals, military personnel, and cultural figures demonstrated solidarity and support for the newly revived social and cultural life of Kalbajar.
A food and recreation area operated for visitors as part of the celebrations. Guests were offered Kalbajar’s national dishes, teas brewed from the region’s mountain herbs, and the renowned Kalbajar honey noted for its quality.
According to the event plan, a concert program, fireworks show, and a modern laser show will be held at the end of the day.
Note that the event is planned to be organized annually in future years as well.
Recall that, according to the Order of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated 31 July 2023, November 25 is celebrated as Kalbajar City Day.

Azerbaijan celebrates Kalbajar City Day, APA’s Karabakh bureau reports.
A photo exhibition has been organized in the central square of Kalbajar city.
The exhibition, titled “Kalbajar: From Lens to History,” features images mainly reflecting the period of occupation and the development that followed liberation.
It was noted that a theatrical performance will be presented today in connection with Kalbajar City Day. Later, a concert program will take place, and the day will conclude with fireworks.
For the record, according to an Order signed by President Ilham Aliyev, November 25 is celebrated as Kalbajar City Day.
