Children’s right to liberty and personal inviolability is being expanded, APA reports.

This is reflected in the new draft Law “On the Rights of the Child” discussed at today’s meeting of the Milli Majlis Committee on Family, Women and Children’s Affairs.

According to the draft, except for cases stipulated by law, a child may not be monitored, or subjected to video or photo recording, audio recording, or other similar actions. Except for cases stipulated by law, the state guarantees the right of children to maintain the confidentiality of information transmitted via correspondence, telephone conversations, post, telegraph, and other means of communication.

The scope of personal data relating to children, as well as the conditions for its collection, processing, transmission, use, and protection, shall be determined by law.
