Iran does not agree to the removal of enriched uranium from the country, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmail Baghaei said at a press conference in response to a question about the possibility of removing enriched uranium from Iran, APA's Tehran bureau reports.

Commenting on calls for Iran to withdraw from the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons (NPT), Baghaei said that the Iranian people, considering what has happened over the past 15 years, have a legitimate question: "Although Iran has made every effort to demonstrate the peaceful nature of its nuclear program, the other side is looking for excuses."

He emphasized that Iran's nuclear program has always been and remains peaceful. According to Baghaei, the other side's continued portrayal of Iran as a source of threat shows that they are ignoring reality.

"This issue is real, but at the decision-making level, we are still a member of the NPT and remain committed to our obligations," the spokesperson added.

Baghaei also commented on the US demand for Iran's surrender: "Surrender is not in our vocabulary."
