Greece allocated over €1 million to combat iodine deficiency in Azerbaijan

Baku. Lachin Sultanova – APA. The project implemented by Greek specialists to eliminate iodine deficiency in the north-western regions of Azerbaijan ended, Neokus Geordopoulos, professor of the University of Patras told APA. He said that the project, which had lasted for 10 years, was implemented in 6 Azerbaijani regions.
In connection with the end of the project endocrinological laboratory will be established in Shaki Central Hospital. Four doctors, who will work in the lab, will be trained in Greece. Greece will present 3 modern devices to the laboratory. Geordopoulos said Greek government had allocated over €1 million on the project within 10 years.
