Misir Mardanov: â€œThe government budget incomes can be increased with increasing the number of foreign students in Azerbaijanâ€

Baku. Ilhama Isabalayevaâ€“APA. A final tour of 13th Discipline Olympiad among the high school students took place at the Azerbaijan State Pedagogic University on Tuesday. Speaking at the event Minister of Education of Azerbaijan Misir Mardanov said a number of programs for talented students had been carried out in the country recent years. SOCAR is sponsoring nearly 250 Azerbaijani students, who are receiving education at the world leading universities within the State Program for Education of Azerbaijani youth abroad. The Minister said this work would be developed further and added that currently more than 4000 Azerbaijani students were getting education abroad and nearly 1000 of them were sponsored by the government.
More than 6500 foreign students are studying at the high schools of Azerbaijan. Misir Mardanov considers that the government budget incomes can be increased with increasing the number of foreign students in Azerbaijan. Welcoming experience of Malaysian Government in this field, the Minister said 80 000 foreign students were studying in that country with 18 million population. â€œTaking into consideration that tuition fee is higher for 10-15 times than in Azerbaijan we can see how much income the budget hasâ€.
