Misir Mardanov: â€œI cannot get in touch with the rector of International University for several daysâ€

Unfortunately the Universityâ€™s administration and staff donâ€™t think about it. Hundreds, thousands of people flow to the streets today to get diploma and we witness it. I received the Universityâ€™s top officials, but they didnâ€™t take reason from that. We canâ€™t get in touch with the rector of the International University to demand him to respond the peopleâ€™s complaintsâ€, said Misir Mardanov, Minister of Education, APA reports. He said the people complained about this university, but they didnâ€™t know whom they should address. â€œNot all, who are dissatisfied with the education, should address the Ministry of Education. Most of their problems should be solved locally. We directed all our efforts to the welfare of the citizensâ€. The Minister spoke about the violations in the University. â€œA number of peoples were admitted to this University and State Admission Commission has no information about them. As the government organization we consider education of these people illegal. Parents tell us that they have no idea about that and they were deceived. There are rules in the country and everyone should observe itâ€. The minister said he didnâ€™tâ€™ want that the International University repeated fate of the Independent Azerbaijan University. â€œThere was huge work there and its building was repaired and we donâ€™t want that the university stop its activity. If the rules are not observed, the Government should create opportunities for the education centers, which contribute to the citizenâ€™s welfare. Those, who provide other activity, cannot be an education centerâ€.
The minister said he was interested in the fate of 90 students, who couldnâ€™t receive diplomas. â€œWe try to give them privileges, but we need to meet with the Universityâ€™s administration and to discuss the issue with themâ€.
