Establishment of State Committee for Work with Azerbaijanis living abroad turns 6

Baku. Mahbuba Gasimbayli-APA. Establishment of State Committee for Work with Azerbaijanis living abroad turns 6, the Committeeâ€™s Press Service told APA.
The Committee has taken several important measures on protection of freedom and right of compatriots, protection of national values, organizing them. Over 300 Azerbaijani Diasporas function in a number of countries of the world and organizing process of the body continues at present. The State Committee takes measures on preparation of charter of the World Azerbaijanis and Azerbaijani Diaspora Action Conception.
The Committee was established under order of Heydar Aliyev on establishment of State Committee for work with Azerbaijanis living Abroad on July 5, 2002 to develop and expand relations with Azerbaijanis living overseas. Roots of state policy on work with Azerbaijanis living abroad based on law adopted on December 27, 2002.
