Rauf Zeyni elected President of National NGO Forum

Former President of the Organization Azay Guliyev spoke about the way the forum passed. He said in the past period the forum achieved the establishment of relations between NGO and the government organizations. He said the forum made serious efforts for the adoption of laws necessary for the development of civil society. â€œFrom now on the forum has to develop its activity abroad and to participate in the regional projectsâ€. Sector chief of the Public Policy Department of the Presidentâ€™s Office Arastun Mehdiyev spoke about the forumâ€™s role in the development of civil society. Mehdiyev said the Government of Azerbaijan was interested in the development of NGOs. He said the Government saw NGO as its partner. Then the lists of candidates to the Governing Board and Control-Inspection Commission were confirmed. As a result of secret voting, Rauf Zeyni was elected a President of National NGO Forum. Then 7-member Control-Inspection Commission and 21-member Governing Board were formed. At the end of the congress the resolution and address to President Ilham Aliyev were adopted.
