Over 676 kg narcotics confiscated last year in Azerbaijan burnt

Baku. Mahbube Gasimbeyli-APA. On Tuesday, Azerbaijani law-enforcement bodies burnt more than 676 kg different narcotics confiscated in 2007. It was said at the event organized by the Working Group of the State Commission against the Illicit Drug Trafficking and dedicated to June 26, the International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Drug Trafficking, APA reports. Members of the Commission and officer of the Drug Enforcement Administration of the Interior Ministry Elman Tarlanov said the narcotics had been burnt by the commission on the elimination of confiscated narcotics and psychotropic substances and 266 kg 737 g of these drugs (33 kg 563 g heroin, 91 kg 627 g opium, 31 kg 176 g hashish, 110 kg 366 g marijuana and 5 g methadone) was confiscated by the interior bodies.
