41.274 kg heroin brought to Azerbaijan from Iran excluded from the turnover

Turkish citizens Chengiz Cheftchi, Mehmet Baligchioglu and others smuggled a large part of narcotic drugs avoiding custom control and brought it to Azerbaijan from Iran. It was clarified that Cheftchi loaded construction materials to his Volvo officially declaring that he took it to Kazakhstan and passed to the Iranian territory. Volvoâ€™s owner Baligchioglu showed him the hiding-place in his truck and instructed to keep drugs he would receive in Tabriz there. He had to take the drugs to Azerbaijan and to move by ferryboat to Kazakhstan and to unload official shipment there and to deliver the drugs to the person whom he would be instructed about by phone. Cheftchi met with the certain person, his identity is investigated now, in Iran and received narcotics and hided it in the truck. He brought drugs to Azerbaijan on June 19, 2008. His truck was stopped in Astara customs office and 41.274 kg of heroin hided in the truck was confiscated. General Investigation Office of the Ministry of National Security has launched a criminal case on Article 206.3.2 of the Criminal Code (smuggling of narcotic drugs on preliminary arrangement by group of persons) and on Article 234.4.1 and 234.4.3 (Illegal manufacturing, purchase, storage, transportation, transfer or selling of narcotics, psychotropic substances on preliminary arrangement by group of persons or organized group and in large amount).
