As of October 1, Azerbaijanâ€™s economically active population reached 4.2894 million, of which 4.0015 million are employed, said the State Statistical Committee.
According to the statistics, of the 1.2971 million people employed by large and small enterprises, 846,800 work for the state sector and 450,300 for private sector.
5,000 foreigners were employed in Azerbaijan during January-August. Of them, 1,400 worked in industrial sector.
According to the employment agencies, the official number of the unemployed people was 51,351 as of October 1. Women account for 50.5% of the jobless population. There are 4 jobless people per vacancy in the country. /APA-Economics/
