Garib Mammadov, Chairman of the State land and Cartography Committee, said 603 of the violations were committed in the state-owned lands and 30 in privately-owned lands.
More than 1,700 irregularities were prevented by the committee officers.
He added that there are 2,744 municipalities in the country. “We have not yet set the boundaries of 53 municipalities, of which 23 are newly established ones. 8 municipalities are located opposite to the territories occupied by Armenia, and there are disputes among 7 municipalities,†he added.
He noted that there are 250,000 yards in the country.
“A total of 50,000 hectares were squatted by some people during 1990-91. There is 0.18 hectares per capita in Azerbaijan,†he said. /APA-Economics/
