Azerbaijan to host European taekwondo club championship

The countries to host then next European taekwondo championships have been announced in the meeting of the European taekwondo Union (ETU) General Assembly held in Baku. Sweden, England and Armenia were the main contenders to organize the 2009 European championship. Sweden has won the majority in the secret ballot, gaining 57 votes. Armenia, England won 3 and 2 votes correspondingly.
According to the election results the European championship for taekwondo will be held from 26 to 28 June in Trelleborg in 2009.
Russia has been awarded with the 2010 European championship for adults. The championship will take place in Saint Petersburg, May1-5.
The European club championship will be held in Baku. The next meeting of the ETU General Assembly is salted for 2008 in Rome, Italy.
