Grief and festivity are different things,” Baku Mayor Hajibala Abutalibov told APA. Taking a stance on the opinions to cancel flower festivity scheduled for May 10, Abutalibov said the event would not be postponed.
“Flower festivity will be held in the park in front of Heydar Aliyev Palace on May 10. There will be fireworks. Preparations are about to end,” he said.

Mayor answered those who demand cancel of the flower festivity in connection with the tragic incident occurred in Azerbaijan Oil Academy on April 30.
“We share the grief of the people who lost their kindred in the tragedy. Three-day and seven-day ceremonies ended. We should always be together, unite around our state, our president. There are mourning days and holidays in Azerbaijan. We should mark every day properly,” he said.
