Ministry of Education to open exemplary schools in the regions of Azerbaijan

Baku. Ilhama Isabalyeva â€“ APA. The Ministry of Education is planning to open at least one exemplary school in every region of Azerbaijan, Minister of Education Misir Mardanov said, APA reports. The minister said the ministry was working to turn the secondary schools into the lyceums. â€œIt is not important to call the exemplary schools as lyceum or gymnasium. The exemplary schools should have higher standards and strong material-technical basis, as well as professional staff. We aim to make progress in the essence of the education. It is important to open at least one exemplary school in every regionâ€.

The minister said the exemplary schools in the regions should be an alternative to the foreign schools in Azerbaijan. Mardanov said one of such schools was opened in Yasamal District of Baku last year. â€œThe school named after Zarifa Aliyeva is known as a number one in Baku. I think it will be one of the best schools of the country. We will open such schools in Baku and the regions as wellâ€.
