APA hosts Swedish journalists - <font color=red>PHOTOSESSION</font>

Baku. Vahab Rzayev - APA-Economics. APA (Azeri-Press Agency) has hosted a delegation of Swedish journalists led to Azerbaijan by Ã–sterlens FolkhÃ¶gskolaâ€™s Director of Eurasia Ove Eriksson.

The meeting focused on political, economic and social situation in Azerbaijan, and the parties exchanged views on the prospects for development and existing problems.

The Swedish journalists showed interest in the issues of civil society development in Azerbaijan, the mediaâ€™s role in this process, freedom of expression, the countryâ€™s role in regional processes, economic dependence on oil, the impact of global financial and economic crisis, the social protection of population, etc.

APA Director General Vusala Mahirgizi, APA-Economics editor Vugar Mustafayev and expert economist Vahab Rzayev briefed the guests about the existing political, economic and social situation in Azerbaijan.

In discussing the question of freedom of speech in Azerbaijan, Vusala Mahirgizi said that Azeri media are not subject to censorship in any form, and journalists have an opportunity to write on any topic.

Guests were also given information about the policy of accumulation of oil revenues in State Oil Fund and oil revenue spending, and monitoring mechanism.
