Head of Azerbaijani Education Ministryâ€™s executive office: â€œThe issue on arrangement of security in educational establishments will be consideredâ€

Baku. Ilhama Isabalayeva â€“ APA. â€œThe heads of all educational establishments have considered the issue of security. It will possibly be considered how security is arranged at schools. Arrangement of security at schools may be discussed with participation of the heads of educational establishments and decision may be passed,â€ head of Education Ministryâ€™s executive office Ilham Pirmammadov told APA. He said that civilians secured schools before.
â€œHe had no weapons or protecting device. They only opened and closed the door and checked documents,â€ he said.

Pirmammadov said police should secure the buildings of higher schools, money should be allocated for this.
â€œAt least 6 policemen are needed to secure a school. It requires much money,â€ he said.

The ministry official said some private schools arranged their security themselves, they sign contract with the police.
â€œEvery education establishment has the right to secure its building. Therefore, every establishment can arrange its security. If money is allocated for this purpose, security may be arranged,â€ he said.

Director of public affairs sector of Baku Education Department Zamina Aligizi told APA that secondary schools and pre-school institutions had no means to arrange security. She said after the tragic incident, the heads of the establishments were recommended to be more attentive to security.
